Yoshiko Monson CAS, PKS
is the founder of Absolute-Balance, LLC. She is highly educated in the field.
To explore, know and learn all about Ayurveda was a major decision in her life. Two significant experiences led her to the path of Ayurvedic Medicine. First, she was a dancer, choreographer, group fitness instructor and fitness instructor trainer for over 25 years. This required her to manage her health for professional reasons, but it was not easy to avoid injuries and they kept occurring. In 2003, she suffered a serious injury in her lumbar spine and hip joints. Her doctor suggested that surgery was the only option. She refused and determined to treat and rehabilitate herself through the use of Oriental medicine such as Chinese acupuncture, Japanese osteopathy and Ayurveda. She also started yoga and Pilates. After one year, she had a complete recovery and she definitely felt better than before. She visited her doctor to learn how she had healed but he could not provide her with a convincing answer.
Second, in 2011 her mother suffered from a cerebral stroke. She remained in a vegetative state and the doctors treating her did not have any specific treatments for her. Instead they said they “would just wait…”, and she wondered what they were waiting for! She decided to do something for her mother and immersed herself into the study of Ayurveda. She started the Ayurveda program at CCA in the spring of 2012 and participated in all the body therapy workshops. In summer of 2013, her mother was in critical condition; her blood pressure was 40/20 for nearly one week. Yoshiko started to administer the Ayurvedic therapies that she learned from Dr. Marc Halpern and gave Ayurvedic hands-on therapy to her mother for about two months. Her mother had a miraculous recovery. Her mother is still alive, smiles often and sings. Her BP is 120/70. Asked how she had recovered, the doctor only said that it was the “power of love”. She was witness to her mother’s miraculous recovery. Because of these two life events, Yoshiko is continuing to study Ayurvedic Medicine.
